  I am an Indian and I know what dhaba means actually.
  
  Few years back when I was traveling from Vegas to San Diego, my friend found this place. It was a little inside and off route so I was hesitant to go just so we reach in time. But she was very interested to go here so we were okay. That was a night time and it is bit inside so we all were kind of scared.
  
  Once we reached there an ordered food, I was just so amazed that we actually found a dhaba. It is a restaurant on a gas station where a sardar family cooks Indian food. They have very limited option but amazing tastes and popular ones. We ate and took a to go.
  
  Few months back, I was traveling from San Diego to Vegas and made sure I stop here on the way. I was with family and everyone loved the food.
  
  The two men who were there at the dhaba are very nice and like how elders are in India. I loved this and glad Californians have something near them.
  
  I will go back everytime I am in that area. :)

  Well, an authentic Punjabi Indian place out in the middle of a vast and hot Mojave desert with a slew of Indian expats flowing in continually. You could almost imagine breaking out into a Bollywood dance. Where are they coming from? Is there a huge Indian community here? Perhaps Tata Group has an outfit here.
  
  Apparently it was a truck stop that Indian truck drivers know about, and this was their watering hole when they traverse across the lonely and formidable Needles Freeway.
  
  The food was good but not great to me but it was like going home for a meal for the expats. The kitchen was staffed by a genuine Punjabi Family. Felt like saying aap se milke bahut khushi hui which meant, very pleased to meet you in Hindi. Worth a stop to check this cultural curiosity if you happen to be passing by.

  If you were born and raised in a middle class India, at some point, you must have walked into a highway restaurant (dhaba) riddled with flies, stray dogs and awesome food. Well, no flies or dogs here. Just plain old home cooked style food. Just look past shabby interior or truckers brushing their teeth in a totally badass (Mad max level crappy) washroom.
  
  They make fresh rotis right in front of you. Served with butter. Yum! And homemade pickles. Our vegetarian thali had daal, matar paneer, aloo gobhi, (homemade?!) yogurt, raw onions (desi style), zeera rice and those delicious rotis!
  
  This place sits in dark, off Exit 23, attached to a gas station convenience store. Don't walk in with any expectations and ready to be satisfied if you are feeling nostalgic about road trips in 90s India!

  Stumbled upon this place by accident. Hubs and I saw the sign from the highway, called to see if they were open New Year's Day...they were.
  
  Located in a food truck near the Love's off I40, exit 59, it's an unlikely dining destination. The California address on Yelp isn't accurate.
  
  But how amazing the food was!! We got 2 steaming hot rotis, a large mutter paneer, beautifully fragrant rice with whole cumin seeds, and a side of cool, tart yogurt. It was all delicious, we ate it messily in the car on the way home from our road trip.
  
  Soo much better than a burger and fries, if you're an Indian food junkie. If not, there are plenty of greasy spoons around.

  Found this place by accident but glad we did! Authentic home style Punjabi food and chai. Absolutely loved the food and the owners are so warm and welcoming!
